The Line
Shelley Caudill's debut womenswear collection was inspired by a trip to Berlin, Germany. After absorbing the city's captivating cultural energy and arts, she returned to Los Angeles to create a line purely based on her instinctual aesthetic. "Seeing the world stimulated me to create something that honored true artistic expression and love for the craft of design without worrying about the outcome," she notes. The line is a symbiosis between art, design and nature. Honoring Shelley's signature leatherwork, the line features an array of structural suede and lambskin outerwear, dresses and separates that introduce an exciting sartorial concept: leather layering. From luxe lamb blazers to paper-thin suede tank tops to stretch lamb capri pants, every minimalist piece is lightweight enough to combine and pack for travel. To salute Mother Earth, agate stones and other natural elements, such as corrosion, inspire color palette names like earth, sand, sky, bone, rock and water.
About The Designer
Los Angeles based artist, stylist and designer Shelley Caudill has been a leading figure in the fashion world for over a decade. After taking the industry by storm for producing a groundbreaking swimwear collection in 2000 while studying at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandise, Shelley embarked on a burgeoning career in accessories design. Known for her range of innovative handbags and cuffs in exotic leathers, the cult-favorite designer's next foray was into chic leatherwear making timeless pieces that build a life long collection.
